Dorottya Láng has won worldwide acclaim and numerous accolades, including 1st prize at the Emmerich Smola Musik Debut Competition in 2013. This season sees Ms Láng join the ensemble of the Staatsoper Hamburg, where she will be performing the roles of Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze de Figaro) and Varvara (Kat'a Kabanova).

Ms Láng will be joined by internationally renowned pianist Helmut Deutsch, who has accompanied big names such as Jonas Kaufmann, Herman Prey and Brigitte Fassbaender. This will be his second Rosenblatt Recital of the season, following a well received recital with Sumi Hwang in October (Planet Hugill review, 4.5 stars). Láng and Deutsch will perform a Goethe-inspired programme of mainly 19th-century music including Schubert, Liszt and Berlioz, alongside forays into the 20th-century with music by Eisler and Lehar in the second half.

The Rosenblatt Recital next month will not be Ms Láng's first performance at Wigmore Hall; in 2011, she took third prize at the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition. Hear her performance from the final, accompanied by Mehrdokht Manavi, by clicking the image below:
