Russian soprano Ekaterina Siurina returns to the Rosenblatt Recitals, this time with American tenor Charles Castronovo. This charismatic husband and wife duo, one of the most seductive in the opera world, will perform a programme of music by Rossini, Liszt, Tchaikovsky and more, accompanied by Iain Burnside on piano.

Now is a busy and exciting time in Ekaterina Siurina's and Charles Castronovo's respective careers. Praised for her “… open ease and fluency” and for producing “… an attractive sound of roundly-focussed clarity and colour in every part of the range” The Sydney Morning Herald, Ekaterina is currently performing the lead role of Leila in a production of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs des Perles at the Sydney Opera House, whilst Castronovo will take on Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera House this Spring. With both singers in demand around the world, this is a rare opportunity to witness the charismatic pair perform opposite one another.

Still to come this season, Juan Diego Flórez performs at the Royal Albert Hall, Javier Camarena returns after his impressive Rosenblatt Recitals debut last year and the great Italian soprano, Mariella Devia, will close our season in spectacular style.

Branscombe Festival

An exciting weekend of world class performance, in one of Devon’s most stunning locations, the Branscombe Festival offers entertainment for all. A rich, carefully devised programme of classical music, opera, and brass band promises to delight and excite audiences. Now in its fourth year, the Branscombe Festival is fast making a reputation as one of the South-West’s key cultural events; artists who regularly top the bill in London and New York perform in the intimate spaces of the village hall and church, attracting music lovers from the local community and across the region. A village festival set on an international stage, Branscombe is a truly unique musical happening.

2016 Line-up: The Marian Consort, Miss Hope Springs, Florilegium, Harry the Piano, Serena Gamberoni, Luca Salsi, Michele Gamba, The Leo Green Experience, Danny Toeman and Camborne Town Band.

£19.50 per concert; £100 for all concerts; 50p from each ticket sold will be donated to St Winifred’s church.
